Annual General Meeting - May 1st, 2022
Mercedes-Benz Club of America Portland section held its annual AGM event at Stanford’s on 5/1/2022 with 23 members attending. Food and company was excellent. Catching up with friends and meeting other members was great fun! Discussion of planned upcoming events and future events was held with new ideas being provided to our board members. A raffle for board donated items was well received. Board members Stacy Rollins and George Larson fielded questions from the group and highlighted planned events for the next couple of months.
Post event––Blue Nelson showed us yet another interesting find, 1984 300TD Wagon that was a 1 of 1 build with nearly all available options including European headlights, turbocharger, antilock brakes, special 14” wheels, lumbar supported front seats, roll down back screen (between back and passenger compartments, factory burglar alarm, roof rack with rear basket, and manual shift on the steering column). He saved this car from the wrecking yard crusher and has it on the road again. A bit rough (well used), but an incredible build that was confirmed with the factory to be the only one delivered like it. Pictures might not look like much, but the turbo, ABS and factory alarm didn’t happen until the next year in any significant numbers. Most of us would never have noted the “specialness” of this vehicle. Blue will be displaying this car in LA at a high milage MB event that he is involved with later this year.
